I finally figured out how to write on this blog (thanks Corrie for your patience) I felt so compelled to thank everyone for all the "Acts of Kindness" that were performed this past year. It has been one year since that horrific call we received and also realize that many of you still check this blog periodically. I guess for some of us it is a connection to Ryan that unfortunately we no longer have.
I have learned so many things from this sad experience not once, but twice, and have witnessed how truly amazing the human spirit really is. We certainly are a resilient species, with strengths that we were not even aware of, especially with all the incredible support we have, and still are receiving. Your support, love, concern, compassion, and never ending "Acts of Kindness" does make our Journey of Grief more bearable and healing. Along this journey we have met so many incredible human beings, which makes us realize what a huge impact both Jesse and Ryan made in their short, but impressive life on Planet Earth. I can still see the twinkle in their eyes and mischievous smiles which make me wonder what they're up to. I would like to believe the are watching Hunter run and run to his heart's content.
I also have learned to really try to focus on the now...yesterday is gone, there is nothing we can do about it....we have no idea or control of what tomorrow will bring (as the Creeden family sadly knows so well) so don't waste your energy worrying about it...live in the moment, it is a gift (that is why we call it present)
Thank you once again for all your support, we TRULY appreciate it!

Wedding
Thanks so much for everyone's support with the wedding. It was beautiful and we are so glad we could share it with many of you.
Of course...we were always thinking of Jesse and Ryan and wishing they were there....It will always be that I guess....
If anyone was there and took photos:
could you please put copies of them on a CD and send them to us? We would love to have them!

Pictures, stories...anything
I know I should not worry about this now...however I don't want people to forget.
We want all pictures, videos, stories, anything of Ryan and Jesse.
It might be helpful if people collect photos for us or try to organize a way to get them all...
More importantly we want to hear stories and memories..although right now it is very hard at times to hear stories and see photos etc. But I don't want people to forget them. (check your cell phones for pictures or videos also!)
Ideally it would be great to have memories written down or better yet voice recorded. So some day..when we are ready we can listen to them..with not as much pain as there is now.
I have a voice recorded we use for therapy sessions...might be something some people can buy or use and when you are sitting around with friends and reminiscing..maybe you all could share those stories with us...and please don't feel you need to sensor them. Tell how they were...it means so much more.
Let me know if you have ideas. I have a lot on my plate but I don't want too much time to go by and people start to forget....
Thanks

Good News
Someone wanted to hear good news so...
Brian and I rescheduled our wedding and will get married on October 10th, 2009.
Short notice but we can do it!
Thanks so much to Jo-Ann and JC who own the Sesuit Harbor Cafe who graciously offered for us to have the ceremony and reception at their restaurant.

More Sad News....
We don't understand how things could possibly get worse but unfortunately they have once again.
We (my folks, Brian and I) left today for a weekend trip to Maine. We had to drop off Hunter at the kennel for the weekend. About 4 hours into our trip we got a call from the kennel that Ryan's dog Hunter had died.
We have no idea exactly what happened but he collapsed and they believe he had a heart attack. They believe it may have been residual effects from his heart worm.
My parents took Hunter in when Ryan left for Texas. He quickly became a very important part of their lives (even sleeping in bed with them every night). It has been great to have him around while trying to cope with the loss of Ryan. Agh what can we say...
This was once again shocking news....It is just so sad.

Donations for the Reception -THANKS
Thanks to EVERYONE who donated money to help pay for the reception.
However, we found out that someone anonymously paid for the entire bill (Whoever this was THANK YOU SO MUCH and we wish we could thank you personally!)
Everyone else who donated please feel free to come get your check or cash back from my dad. Otherwise we will take the money and add it to the scholarship fund (unless someone has a better idea).
